Development has taken reverse mode in State: Chandrababu Naidu
The development in the State has taken a beating and the ‘reverse tendering’ which the YSRCP government is experimenting with has only ‘reversed’ the development achieved so far, former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday.
Visakhapatnam: The development in the State has taken a beating and the 'reverse tendering' which the YSRCP government is experimenting with has only 'reversed' the development achieved so far, former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday.
Addressing the party cadre and supporters at the constituency-wise review meeting that began in the city, he called for collective effort to devise ways to strengthen the party at village and ward levels.
Equating Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's government in the State to a 'rowdy rajyam', the TDP national president said he had never seen such an unruly regime in the State in his entire political career, spanning four decades.
In his maiden trip to Visakhapatnam after the TDP received a severe drubbing in the general elections, Naidu said that the City of Destiny remains close to his heart. "If there is any peaceful place in the country, it is Visakhapatnam," he mentioned, recalling his efforts taken to bring back the city to normalcy when cyclone Hudhud ravaged the district.
"But, it is unfortunate that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was only confined to aerial survey of the flood-affected areas. I seriously don't know how he can get the real picture of the problems experienced by the flood victims through aerial survey," Naidu wondered.
Referring to the spate of assaults on his party cadre by the ruling YSRCP leaders, Naidu said the Telugu Desam workers would not be cowed down by such cowardly attacks and would respond at the right time in the right manner and work towards safeguarding the dignity of the party workers with all the might, following the right path.
He appealed to the party cadre not to get bogged down with the thought of losing in the recent elections but figure out ways to strengthen the party cadre and fight back with vigour in the next elections. While TDP focuses on development, Naidu said, the YSRCP was bent upon destruction.
Referring to the price hike of the liquor, the TDP national president said the State has introduced 'Jagan Mohan Reddy tax.' Pointing to the sense of insecurity prevailing in the State, the TDP supremo said that the Jagan government would remain unstable throughout and the people of Andhra Pradesh were repenting their decision made in the elections.
Further, Naidu accused the Jagan government of deliberately cornering former Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao and systematically slinging mud on him and his character by hurling cheap charges like stealing Assembly furniture, causing humiliation to the senior political leader.
He accused the YSRCP of 'murdering' 12 TDP leaders in the last four months of its rule apart from 570 attacks against them Mimicking YSRCP's famed election campaign theme song 'ravali Jagan kavali Jagan,' Naidu said the people repent their decision and are now singing 'ravali sand, kavali power' in a veiled reference to the present shortage of sand and power witnessed in the State.
Earlier, Naidu was accorded a warm welcome at the airport by party leaders and workers. The first day of the two-day-long review meeting of Naidu here after East Godavari was attended by MLAs PGVR Naidu, Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, Velagupudi Ramakrishnababu, former Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Ayyanna Patrudu, GITAM president M Sribharath and others.
