Don't produce more than permitted, tobacco farmers told in Ongole
The tobacco farmers should not produce more leaf than the Board permitted them, advised the Tobacco Board chairman Yadlapati Raghunath Babu, speaking at the Bharatiya Janata Party district office in Ongole on Sunday.
Ongole: The tobacco farmers should not produce more leaf than the Board permitted them, advised the Tobacco Board chairman Yadlapati Raghunath Babu, speaking at the Bharatiya Janata Party district office in Ongole on Sunday.
Raghunath Babu said that leading the country into the development is only possible with the Narendra Modi led Union government. He said that the government found amicable solutions and convinced all sections of the public to solve many complex problems like the abolishment of Article 370, providing reservations for economically backward classes, passing criminalization of triple talaq bill, implementing judgment on Ayodhya etc.
The Tobacco Board chairman said that the BJP was expanding into other states and winning the locals' hearts. He said that Congress and TDP had ruined Andhra Pradesh state and converted it into a poor state. He said that the Prakasam district is one of the largest tobacco-producing districts in the country and the crop didn't get better produce and price due to environmental conditions.
He said that the weather condition is cooperative this year and advised the farmers not to produce tobacco more than the Board permitted them as it could reduce the price in the market. He announced that the Board is trying to double the revenue of the farmers, as per the promise made by the prime minister to all farmers to double their revenue by 2020.
When asked about introducing English medium in government schools in state, Raghunath Babu opined that the state government was trying to treat one organ when another organ is suffering from the disease. He said that the government is diverting the issue.
The BJP Prakasam district president PV Krishnareddy, Minority Morcha state president Khalifatulla Basha, Bodduluri Anjaneyulu and other leaders also participated in the meeting.
