Tirupati: Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy rebutted the allegations made by former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that the YSR Congress Party activists selling liquor through belt shops after wine shops are closed at 8 pm.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Narayana Swamy also stoutly denied the allegation by Naidu that the sale of illicit arrack had been going on in many places in the State endangering the lives of poor.

The minister said that the former chief Minister was jealous of growing popularity of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government and resorted to making wild charges in frustration.

Sharply reacting to Naidu's accusation that the government was filing false cases and harassing TDP activists, the Minister dared the TDP chief to prove the charges. He dismissed the charges of nepotism levelled against the government as false.
