Employees face job insecurity in State, says Anagani Satya Prasad

Mangalagiri: TDP Repalle MLA Anagani Satya Prasad on Sunday accused the Jagan Mohan Reddy government of trying to suppress the government employees by creating a sense of job insecurity among them.

Satya Prasad said that the Jagan's regime was adopting anti-employees' policies. Both the government and outsourced employees did not know when they would get salaries and when their services would be arbitrarily terminated.

Jagan Mohan Reddy showed heaven with his promises before the elections but now he was pushing the people into hell.

In a statement here, the TDP MLA recalled how the Chief Minister promised to cancel the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) within a week of forming the government but it had failed to do so even after two-and-half years. He also promised to take responsibility to construct houses for each and everyone. The employees were facing betrayals and humiliation ever since the YSRCP came to power.

Satya Prasad said that the previous TDP government gave 43 per cent fitment. At that time, the employees asked for 29 per cent PRC. The Chandrababu Naidu regime gave 14 per cent more than what was recommended by the 10th PRC. It proved its commitment towards the employees by giving 43 per cent fitment when they asked for just 29 per cent. The Rs 4,000 crore dues towards the 10th PRC were paid in three installments at that time.

The TDP MLA recalled how free accommodation and five-day work rule was implemented for those employees working in the offices of the heads of departments. Health cards were given for free medical care at corporate hospitals and 30 per cent house rent allowance. Retirement age was increased from 58 to 60 years. The salaries of the contract and outsourced employees were increased by 20 per cent.

Satya Prasad said that the TDP regime paid salaries even for the 81 days of Samaikyandhra agitation when the employees took part in protests. But, Chief Minister Jagan did not announce fitment even after two-and-half years of his rule. The government was setting up committees only to delay and deny the benefits. There was no mention about the five pending DAs.

Condemning the government's 'indifference', the TDP MLA said that some employee association leaders were harming the employees' interests by conniving with the government.

The ruling YSRCP was trying to deflect attention from public problems by launching attacks on the opposition. The rulers were not able to pay salaries to the present employees and not able to give fresh job notifications as well.

Satya Prasad said that the employees should rise in agitation and hold protests till the government fulfilled its promises.
