Ex-MLA Dronamraju to join YSRCP today
In a major setback to the Congress party in the city, almost all the leaders led by former MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao are joining the YSR Congress Party on Sunday in Hyderabad
Visakhapatnam: In a major setback to the Congress party in the city, almost all the leaders led by former MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao are joining the YSR Congress Party on Sunday in Hyderabad.
In the last five years several Congress leaders in the district were shifted to the TDP and YSRCP.
However, party senior leaders Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao, PVSN Raju (Ravi) and City Congress Committee president Behara Bhaskara Rao and others continued in the party even YSRCP invited them to join in the party.
During the past six months, the other party leaders are mounting pressure on the Congress leaders to take a decision as there was no future to Congress in the present elections.
Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao, for the past five years, touring the Visakhapatnam South constituency and maintained good relations with the people.
Even he is having strong contacts also in the South constituency.
According to the sources, YSR Congress Party is offering Assembly ticket to Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao to contest from Visakhapatnam South constituency.
The YSR Congress sources said the party leaders already informed to cadre and leadership in the constituency about Dronam's entry into the party.
Dronamraju Satyanarayana was elected as MLA from Visakhapatnam-1 constituency on Congress ticket.
After his sudden demise in 2006, his son Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao won the byelections.
He also won in 2009 elections from the same segment and worked as a government whip during 2009-14.
