Fishermen training camp on Feb 1, 2
The Matsyakara Samkshema Samithi will organise a training programme, especially for fishermen on their rights on February 1 and 2.
Kakinada: The Matsyakara Samkshema Samithi will organise a training programme, especially for fishermen on their rights on February 1 and 2. The Samithi local meeting was held here on Sunday. Presiding over the meeting,the Samithi Women Wing president Karri Padmasri said that the fishermen were leading miserable lives due to their poverty and illiteracy.
She said that under inclement weather conditions, the fishermen were unable to go to the sea for fishing purposes. Under such circumstances, they have to starve, she lamented. The training camp would help them to raise their voice for their rights. She said that they should assert their boldly and wage struggles, if necessary.
She unveiled pamphlet of the training camp. The Samithi state president, Kaidiri Polaraju, general secetary K Polayya, East Godavari district president Bade Govind, Kakinada president D Chittibabu, Karri Narayana Rao, Varipalli Ganesh, M Trimurthulu and others were present.
