Follow EC guidelines, officials told in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: Sub-Collector CM Saikantha Varma had said that everyone should follow the guidelines given by Election Commission (EC) until the completion of both assembly and parliament elections.
Addressing the representatives of various parties at his office here on Monday, he said the parties should obtain prior permission for conducting meetings, rallies etc or stern action will be taken against the respective persons. Flying squads, static squads, video teams etc pressed into service.
Nominations will be accepted from March 18 to 25, followed by scrutiny of nominations on March 26. Withdrawals will be accepted up to March 28, he said.
Polling will be held on April 11 and counting of votes will be held on May 23.
He asked the representatives to extend their cooperation to the officials for smooth conduct of elections. Necessary arrangements will also be held at the polling booths, he added.
