TDP Senior Leader and former President of TANA, Dr Gorrepati Navaneetha Krishna (73) has died.

TDP Senior Leader and former President of TANA, Dr Gorrepati Navaneetha Krishna (73) has died. He had been suffering from kidney disease for some time in the past and died in America. He is staying with Gorrepati Ranganatha Babu, the head of the Vidya trust, in the US.

The two have settled in their careers near Dallas for the past 35 years. In 1985, he joined the TDP and looked after-party activities in America. He closely monitored the chief minister's visits to the US during the TDP's tenure.

Dr Navaneetha Krishna has contributed immensely to the development of the prestigious North American Telugu Society (Tana) in America. In 2001, he held the post of treasurer and then vice president and resigned as president from 2003-05.

In July 2005, Tana celebrations were held in Detroit under the aegis of Dr Navaneetha Krishna.
