Four students from Acharya Nagarjuna University hostel in Guntur have been suspended for allegedly chanting Jai Amaravati slogans. Chief Warden Dr Ramachandran has issued orders to suspend students from the dormitory. Ashirvadam, Naveen, Raju and Edukondalu who are studying in journalism and English are given notices.

On the orders of Vice Chancellor Acharya Rajasekhar, the notice were pasted on the wall on Saturday night. They were ordered to appear before the Disciplinary Action Committee on Monday.

The student unions are outraged over the suspension of the four students and questioned how they could suspend the students for supporting Amaravati while they could hold the meeting in support to three capitals. The students unions recalled the incident of VC Rajasekhar denying permission for YSR statue when he was Registrar at the university. They allege VC of going in the line of YSRCP.

They questioned how the officials could issue notices on a holiday and demanded the immediate withdrawal of suspension. The students said that they would hold a indefinite hunger strike from Monday if the suspension is not withdrawn.
