Godavari in spate, crosses danger mark

Kakinada: Godavari is in spate as the upstream areas experienced heavy rains for past three days. The water levels touched 36 feet at Bhadrachalam on Thursday evening and on Friday, the water levels crossed 36 feet.

According to sources, already 7.1 lakh cusecs of water was discharged at Medigadda barrage at Kaleswaram as heavy rain is expected in next two days. Second warning can be expected at Bhadrachalam.

Meanwhile, the water levels touched 10 feet at Dowleswaram barrage and 5.38 lakh cusecs of water discharged into the sea and 9,800 cusecs of water released into canals.
