Tirupati: Goddess Sri Padmavathi Devi as Govardhanagiridhari shined brightly on Suryaprabha Vahanam on the seventh day of ongoing annual Brahmotsavams at Tiruchanoor near here on Friday.

As soon as the Vahanam started, the incessant rains subsided giving way to the Sun who pierced out from the sky and the bright rays of the Sun enhanced the glow of the golden Suryaprabha Vahanam giving an amazing feel to the devotees who converged for vahana seva.

The Vahanam decorated with bright red colour Ixora garlands added colour to the beauty of Goddess. Snapanam with Amla stands out for the day: Goddess Padmavathi was rendered the celestial Snapana Tirumanjanam in Sri Krishna Mukha Mandapam at the shrine. Every time when Abhishekam is rendered with sacred ingredients, the Goddess was decked with one garland and like that eight sets of garlands were decorated during the entire ritual.

On Friday, the garlands well knitted out of Amla stood as centre of attraction. Moreover, according to Hindu tradition, Amla is considered to be very auspicious in Karthika month. Apart from Amla, garlands made of betel leaves, betel nuts, black berries and Tulsi etc have also been decorated.
