Government flayed for meagre hike in support price

Bhimadolu: Farmers under the auspices of AP Rythu Sangham criticised the Union government for meagre increase in the support price for crops. Addressing the media at CITU office here on Thursday, the farmer leaders said that compared to the rise in capital investment in farming, the hiked support price was much less.

They reminded that the BJP government had promised to increase the support price as per recommendation of Swaminathan Commission. Though it was supposed to increase the price 50 per cent in addition to the increased production cost, the government ignored the same, they criticised.
