Government giving priority to imparting skill development training: Minister M Goutham Reddy
Minister for IT, Industries and Skill Development Training M Goutham Reddy informed that only 3 lakh educated youth were getting employment every year and others to the tune of 6-7 lakh were failing to secure jobs due to lack of skills.
Nellore: Minister for IT, Industries and Skill Development Training M Goutham Reddy informed that only 3 lakh educated youth were getting employment every year and others to the tune of 6-7 lakh were failing to secure jobs due to lack of skills.
The Minister visited the Government Polytechnic College located at Venkateswara Puram here on Friday and observed the training centre, classrooms, and laboratories at the institution.
He said the State government was giving top priority to providing skill development training to the students of government institutions. The Minister interacted with the students at the college and said a huge volume of students were coming out from engineering, polytechnic and degree colleges every year.
The Minister asked the students to focus on improving skills according to the syllabus. Earlier, Goutham Reddy participated in 'Manabadi Nadu-Nedu' programme in Atmakur town and said that the State government was going to allocate Rs 170 crore for development of the government schools under Nadu-Nedu in the district during the first phase.
He said 1,027 schools were going to get facelift during the first phase in 46 mandals in the district. Amongst them, 132 schools were in Atmakur segment that would be developed as part of the programme.
Financial assistance of Rs 4.5 crore from NABARD has been sanctioned for development activities in these schools in Atmakur segment, he said. DEO Janardhanacharyulu, SSA Project Officer Dr Brahmananda Reddy and others were present.
