The Joint Collector inaugurated the 5th International Yoga Day Celebration here at Mesanical Grounds on Friday which was organised by District Sports Authority, AYUSH and Nehru Yava Kendra. Mass Yoga demonstration has been held here in which Joint Collector, DRO, RDO, and others took part.

Speaking on the occasion, Girisha said that International Yoga Day is celebrated throughout the world on Friday. ``Yoga is helpful to maintain good health and to have mental peace. Irrespective of ages , anybody can practise Yoga every day as a habit. Yoga will be useful to prevent health hazards,'' he said. He advised the Government employees, youth , IT professionals to practise yoga regularly. Joint Collector -2 Kamalakumari, District Revenue Officer Gangadhar Goud, Chittoor RDO Mallikharjuna, DMHO Ramagiddaiah , AYUSH senior medical officers Dr.Vijayakumar, Srinivasulu, Jawed , NYK Chief Babu Reddy and others were present. The Joint Collector felicitated Malayala Yoga Master Rajendra Yogi on the occasion. Students , teachers, health workers , the members of walker Association took part in Mass Yoga demonstration
