Govt to formulate investor friendly industrial policy: Rajath Bhargav

Hindupur (Anantapur): Principal Secretary of Industries department Rajath Bhargav stated that the state government will formulate investor friendly industrial policy soon.
Addressing a workshop on `Easy industrial policy' held at Saptagiri College here on Friday, he said that AP is on the top in the country with regard to ease of doing business and keeping this in mind, a skill development centre for every parliamentary constituency has been sanctioned by the government for upgrading the skills of fresh engineering graduates.
He said that government plans to create Vizag-Chennai industrial corridor and Chennai-Anantapur-Benguluru industrial corridor for industrial development. The state government has identified Kadapa,Anantapur, Prakasam and Srikakulam districts to develop as industrial hubs.
The Principal Secretary stated that the industries are bound to give jobs to those displaced by the projects apart from the honouring of 75 percent reservation for locals. Around 1.16 lakh small and medium industrial clusters are there for which the state government is investing Rs.4,000 crores.
A committee was constituted by the government to tour the state and work out modalities for promoting industries. The state will come up with a new industrial policy after receiving the report from the committee. Bhargav stated that the government is keen to establish 13 major industrial projects in 13 districts.
Each project will generate 10,000 to 20,000 jobs. He revealed that an industrial cluster is being planned in Hindupur as part of Chennai-Benguluru industrial corridor. Presently all infrastructure development including roads, water and power supply are being provided.
Industries Commissioner J V N. Subramanyam has assured investors of all help and timely approvals under a single window scheme. The government is according top priority for medium and small scale industries development. He observed that those who acquired lands for setting up industries and failed to honour agreements will have to forego the lands.
The lands will be given to others who are ready with their projects. As many as 23 government departments are involved in giving approvals. The Principal Secretary also participated in an interactive session with industrialists. District Collector S Sathyanarayana and DIC General Manager Sudarshan Babu were also present.
