Guntur: Some Corporate and private schools have decided to conduct study hours after completion of half working days from Monday.

According to sources, the half working day in schools will start at 8 am and complete at 12.30 pm. They will give break up to 2 pm.

From 2 pm, they will conduct study hours till 4.30 pm for revision of lessons. The teachers should have to work till 4.30 pm. Study hours timings vary from school to school.

In view of the ensuing SSC public examinations and the dull students into consideration, the school managements have decided to conduct half working day in schools.

The government issued orders to strictly implement half working day in all schools under all types of managements and warned that if they violate the orders Guntur: Half working day in schools from todaythey will take stern action against the school managements. In spite of it, the corporate and the private schools decided to conduct the study hours.

DEO R S Ganga Bhavani in a statement directed the Mandal Education Officers to take steps to implement half working day in schools from Monday. If any school management violated the orders, they will initiate action against the school managements. She instructed the officials to strictly implement the orders.

Meanwhile, some corporate schools are engaging PROs to get admissions in the schools. They are collecting phone numbers of parents and explaining specialty of their schools and requesting the parents to admit their children in their schools. PROs of some corporate schools are collecting addresses of the students, meeting their parents and requesting them to admit children in their schools.

The teachers working in the private schools have already started campaign for admissions. After lunch, they go on door-to-door campaign to get admissions.

A teacher working in a corporate school on the condition of anonymity said, "Every day some teachers will go to campaign to get admission in the school. We will teach in the school till 1 pm, from 2 pm to 5 pm, we will conduct campaign to get admissions. Our school management has fixed target to admit at least five fresh admissions to get increment. Based on the admissions, I will get increment."

A student studying class 9th in a corporate school on the condition of anonymity said, "Due to half working day the burden is increasing. We have to start at home at 7 am. We will get back to home at 5.30 or 6 pm."
