Guntur: Dr Nukavarapu Manisha who died in the Ethiopian flight crash in the early hours of Sunday hailed from Unguturu village of Amaravati mandal in Guntur district. She was the second daughter of Nukavarapau Venkateswara Rao and Bharathi. Manisha was on her way to Nairobi in Kenya where her elder sister Lavanya is residing.

According to her relatives, Manisha completed her MBBS four years ago from the Guntur Medical College, later went to the USA for her Masters' degree. She was doing her internship in Johnson City, Tennessee.

She took a flight to Addis Ababa and changed to the ill-fated flight to go to Kenya to visit her sister Lavanya who recently gave birth to triplets. Within minutes she shifted into the second flight, she died in the air crash.Her parents are now in Nairobi which is only two hours of distance from the crash spot.

Manisha's father Nukavarapu Venkateswara Rao is residing at Navabharat Nagar in Guntur city and working as lecturer in a private college in Guntur. He along with his wife Bharati went to Kenya to perform delivery to their daughter Lavanya.

Nukavarapu Venkateswara Rao's cousin Visweswara Rao who is residing at Unguturu in Amaravati mandal said, " Manisha is intelligent. She achieved her goals through hard work. She studied in Guntur right from her seventh standard.

After completing MBBS in Guntur Medical College, she went to U SA. Four months ago, she came to Ungutur and spent a few -days. Her parents expected she will become good doctor and get name and fame to the family. Their dreams were trashed. '' A pall of gloom descended at Unguturu village.
