Guntur: Krishna Guntur districts Graduates constituency MLC KS Lakshmana Rao demanded that the district administration take steps to pay last three months salaries to the lectures and school teachers working in the private schools and colleges immediately. He warned that he will take up with the school education commissioner to mount pressure on the government to pay salary dues and intensify agitation to solve the problem.

He along with school teachers and lectures protested in front of district education officer's office here on Monday under the aegis of Private Teachers and Professors Welfare Association.

He recalled that though the government was directed not to stop salaries of the teachers and lectures, the managements of the private education institutions were not paying salaries and ignored the orders of the government. Private Teachers, Lecturers and Professors Welfare Association state president Dr B Srinivasa Rao said that due to lack of salaries for the last three months, over three lakh teachers and lecturers working in the private schools and colleges are unable to feed their families. He urged the government to extend Rs 10,000 financial assistance per month, till the lockdown is lifted.

PTLPWA leaders, UTF state leader N Venkateswarulu, district president P Prem Kumar, N Naga Malleswara Rao were among those participated in the dharna programme.
