The Andhra Pradesh cabinet meeting chaired by Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was completed at Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet meeting chaired by Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was completed at Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon. In a press meet after the cabinet meeting, minister Perni Nani said that the cabinet has taken some crucial decision of providing houses to the 25 lakh poor by Ugadi for which 16,000 acres of land were bought from private parties.

Nani asserted that the cabinet has given nod for giving the sub-registrar status to the Tahasildars for distributing the houses to the poor. The cabinet has reportedly decided to make a resolution on amendments to the NPR act brought by the centre. The cabinet sought that the NPR be made based on 2011 census and stalled the process of acquiring census.

The Cabinet has also decided to cancel the land allotted to the TDP office in Ongole and directed the officials to return it to the Water Resources Department. And also decided to allocate 1000 crore for construction of thermal plants at Vijayawada and Krishnapatnam.

The Cabinet has given approved powers to SIT to file FIR in the investigation of insider trading and land irregularities in Amaravati.
