Vizianagaram/Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party president and Opposition Leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy announced that after coming to power, he would abolish the Janmabhoomi committees appointed by the TDP in the State.

The YSR Congress Party would ensure that every rupee is spent on welfare schems reach the beneficiaries directly without any middlemen involvement, he said.

Jaganmohan Reddy kick-started his election campaign at Dharmasagaram in Narsipatnam Assembly constituency in Visakhapatnam district. Addressing a huge gathering who turned up for the campaign, Jagan alerted the party cadre and people to be very careful as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is coming up with more lies this time to cheat the people of Andhra Pradesh again.

As the first step, Jagan assured to recruit 2.3 lakh job-seekers after the YSRCP is voted to power. Pointing out that Naidu's assurance that one job in each family never became realty, the Opposition Leader assured that after coming into power, 70 per cent of employment opportunities would be allocated to the local youth across the State.

He assured to establish Gram Secretariats and provide 100 cashless medical services for common man. He also assured that there would be no education expenditure on the parents. All the government schools would be reshaped and quality education would be ensured. He said he would take photographs of the current status of the government schools and photographs after two years to enable people to assess the development.

Irrigation projects would be accorded top priority across the State, Jagan assured. The welfare schemes would be continued with more sops and there would not be any screening of party flag or colour while considering the beneficiaries, he added.

"I lost my paternal uncle. The miscreants entered into his residence and brutally killed him. After coming to power, the law and order will be strictly maintained in the State," Jagan said.

Recalling his 3,638-km long Praja Sankalpa Pada Yatra, he said that during the year-long walk, he witnessed the real troubles of the people and their expectations from the government.

Stating that the TDP had failed to fulfill promises made prior to 2014 polls, Jagan said that his government would never cheat people and would rule the State with transparency in governance.

Jagan introduced party MLA candidate for Narsipatnam constituency P Umasankar Ganesh and Anakapalle Lok Sabha candidate Dr K Satyavathi at the meeting and called upon people to elect them with big majority.

Earlier, speaking at a public meeting at Denkada in Vizianagararam district, Jagan alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was backing the goons and rowdies.

He alleged that Naidu supported goondas who were involved in the call money racket. The Chief Minister also extended support to the TDP MLA who had attacked tahasildar Vanajakshi, he said.

Jagan came down heavily on Chandrababu Naidu for making false promises to people in Vizianagaram district. He promised to make Vizianagaram a Smart City, but failed to keep his word, the Opposition Leader said. The TDP govt even failed to take up widening of Araku-Pendurthi road, he pointed out.
