HYDERABAD: In the state of Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party of Chandrababu Naidu had been defeated in the Assembly and also in the Lok Sabha elections with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of the YSR Congress party had emerged victorious. A landslide victory was attained by the YSRCP, with 150 out of 175 assembly seats and 23 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats.

Ex Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had won against the YSRCP candidate Chandramouli, from Kuppam in Chittoor district with a majority of 30,309 votes. The three Cabinet Ministers of TDP who had retained their seats were, Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa from Peddapuram constituency, Education Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao from Visakhapatnam North and Tourism & BC Welfare Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu from Tekkali.

Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad faced defeat from Ambati Rambabu of YSRCP in Sattenapalli segment while Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad lost to YSRCP Simhadri Ramesh Babu in Avanigadda.

Adinarayana Reddy, the Marketing and Warehousing Minister lost to YSRCP Mithun Reddy in Kadapa whereas, Forest, Science, and Technology Minister Sidda Raghava Rao had been defeated in Ongole Lok Sabha constituency by YSRCP candidate Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy.
