Vijayawada: Thieves broke out for robbery in a gold jewellery shop at Hanuman junction in Krishna district. The unidentified men entered the shop by making a hole in the wall.

In the incident, the gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 30 lakh were stolen. This robbery has shocked the locals as the shop is situated on the national highway, which is very busy with the public all the time and very near to the police night bite center.

The robbery has happened at Anjaneya Jewellery Works at Eluru road on Wednesday midnight, where the thieves entered the shop by making a hole to the wall which is on the small lain next to the shop.

The police have found the iron rod and water buckets on the spot which were used to beak the wall. The entire theft was captured by the CCTV cameras placed inside the shop. In the 15 minutes footage, two persons with masks and without shirts were seen packing the ornaments.

It is estimated that nearly 250 grams of gold and another 25 kg of silver jewelry was stolen. The Anjaneya Jewellery works owner Balanki Apparao, who opened the shop the next day was shocked to notice that the store was stolen. He immediately informed the police on the incident.

Over the information, the Pedapadu police have reached the spot, registered a case and investigating further. The clues team and the dog squad have checked the nearby areas.
