Heavy rain has been lashing kadapa district since Sunday night, throwing normal life out of gare. According to the meteorological officials district has received total 1,251mm rainfall an average of 24.5mm rainfall recorded. Simhadripuram mandal has received 89.5mm highest rainfall in the district.

According to the official sources 15 villages in both mandals like Kamanuru, Nemalladinne, Grisanuru, Radha Nagar, Peddamudiun etc inundated in the water following streams, rivulets,rivers are in spate.

Due to incessant rains occuring for past few days in Kurnool district the Kundu river which is also flowing in kadapa district received heavy inflows. This was leads several villages have been cutoff from the rest of district.

Vehicular traffic disrupted between Duvvuru, kamalapuram, Proddatur, Khajipet, Kamanuru, Radha Nagar etc areas following Kundu and penna rivers are in spate. Several low lying areas down stream areas of Kundu river and Penna have been partially inundated. Water entered in Peddamudiun police station.

The incessant rain has hit the arrival of vegetables, vegetable leaves, Banana stocks to the market places. Four passengers washed away in the water when a auto over turned in the stream at Kamanuru village.

Vehicular traffic seriously disrupted between Kamalapuram- RTPP following pageru stream in spate.

Meanwhile in view of occuring heavy rains since last Sunday night district administration has alerted the people by warning them not to cross the streams either by walking or vehicles in a press note district collector Ch Harikiran urged the people to have contact helpline number 08562- 246344 or toll-free number 1077 (trough BSNL mobile.) He also urged the people immediately informed the administration when ever they are facing troubles for drinking water or any deaths occurred in their villages.
