Kakinada: BJP stages protest against soaring sand price

Kakinada: BJP leaders and activists staged a protest against the government sand policy here on Friday. BJP Kisan Morcha state president Vettukuri Suryanarayana Raju and BJP district secretary Rambala Venkateswar Rao participated in the protest. Poor and middle class families are struggling to get sand, they alleged. Suryanarayana Raju said that construction workers turned unemployed and their families were in dire straits. He said that sand problem has become a major problem across the state.

Rambala Venkateswar Rao lambasted the government criticised that sand is freely available in the black market at cost of Rs 25,000 to 35,000.

BJP Kisan Morcha National Executive Member Yarlagadda Ram Kumar also spoke.
