Kakinada: Country liquor will be banned soon, says Excise official

Kakinada: Prohibition and Excise Deputy Commissioner B Arun Rao said that illicit distilled (ID) liquor would be completely curtailed in the district.
Speaking at a review meeting here on Tuesday, Arun Rao said that the State government has taken measures to ban country liquor in the State. He said that the department was conducting awareness camps among the people and also will use the services of village and ward secretaries and volunteers.
He said that the department identified 100 villages in the district in which they seized 20,614 liters of ID liquor and destroyed the 4,16,444 black jaggery wash. He said that they seized 112 vehicles in various cases.
Also, they registered 339 bindover cases. Moreover all the officials of the department were directed to work with commitment to eradicate illicit liquor in the district.
