Kakinada: Nearly 1.47 crore diethylcarbanmazine (DEC) and 55.5 lakh Albendazole tablets are being distributed in East Godavari to people to eradicate filariasis. District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy distributed the tablets at the Urban Health Centre at Kondayapalem in Kakinada on Monday. He said that Mass Drug Administration (MDA) drive was intended to protect people against Filaria. He said that Filaria spreads through mosquito bite and spread of mosquitoes should be avoided.
District Joint Collector- 2 G Raja Kumari, District Medical Officer B Satyasuseela and others were present.
