Kakinada: Medical and health minister Alla Krishna Srinivas (Nani) directed district officials to follow the guidelines issued by Central and state government on coronavirus preventive measures strictly. Participating in a review meeting at the collectorate here on Monday, Nani thanked the people of the district for making the Janata Curfew a big success.

He said that compared with other states, the gravity of the situation was less and not alarming. However he advised the officials to work hard to contain the virus.

Stating that of the six cases of coronavirus registered in the state on had gone to second stage, the health minister advised the officials to be vigilant and cautious. He expressed his satisfaction over the officials who identified 1,675 persons coming from abroad and made some of them to self isolate and quarantine others in government hospital (GGH) in isolation wards. Agriculture minister K Kannababu said that state government has declared Kakinada town and Kakinada rural areas high risk zones.

He instructed that vegetables should be made available in the Rythu Bazars compulsorily. He also advised to avoid large gatherings in Rythu Bazars. Kakinada MP Vanga Geetha also has exhorted that all officials should work seriously and with commitment to ward off the deadly virus.
