Urge govt to ensure pension payment as per revised scales on July 1

Kakinada: Despite the assurance given by Director of Treasuries and Accounts (DTA), Andhra Pradesh, pension as per the newly revised 7th pay scales has not been provided on June 1, regret UGC pensioners. KVJ Radha Prasad, unit secretary of Retired College Teachers Association (RCTA), expressed concern over the inordinate delay in implementing the 7th pay scales for UGC pensioners. He lamented over the authorities making empty promises to the pensioners.

He pointed out that except in Kadapa district, the DTOs in other districts have not paid pensions as per the revised pay scales to UGC pensioners. K Arun Kumar, retired principal, urged the State government to immediately solve the long pending issue of the pensioners and pay them pension as per the seventh pay scales.

Dr NKV Rao, another retired principal, appealed to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney to initiate measures to ensure implementation of revised UGC scales for pensioners.

He hoped that the officials would ensure payment of revised pensions on July 1 clearing arrears.
