The Karthika Pournami celebrations are in full swing at the Srikalahasti Temple under the auspices of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. Devotees flocked to the temple in large numbers to celebrate the holy Karthika Pournami and are waiting in long queues for the darshans. Not only in Srikalahasti, devotees are flocking to all the Shaiva shrines across the state. The women have offered prayers and performed Mukkantishunni. They have also lit up Karthika lamps in the temples to worship the deity.
On the other hand, devotees flocked to the Srisaila Kshetra, also known as South Kashi. Srisaila Temple is bustling with devotees as large numbers of devotees flock to see Sri Brahmaramba Devi and Mallikarjuna Swamy. Devotees took holy baths at Pathala Ganga from early morning and light Kartik lamps in Pathala Ganga. With this, the entire Pathala ganga area is glowing with lanterns. Meanwhile, temple officials are taking strict measures in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Devotees are advised to follow social distance.
Meanwhile, the devotees from all over Andhra Pradesh are flocking to the beaches to have a holy dip on this auspicious day. Police have set up strong security to prevent any untoward incidents. The temples such as Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple in Vijayawada, Srisailam, Draksharamam, Vemulawada, Dharmapuri, Kaleswaram and other famous Shaiva temples are abuzz with devotees. The temples authorities across two Telugu states have made all the arrangements at temples without any difficulty for the devotees in view of covid.
