Kurnool: All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health Director Dr Madhumitha Dubey, who is a member of Central team for Covid-19, has suggested the doctors to provide quality treatment to coronavirus patients. She along with District Collector G Veera Pandiyan, central team member Sanjay Kumar Adhu Khan convened a meeting with various heads of departments (HoDs) of government hospital at Dhanvanthri hall on Monday during their visit to the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Madhumitha Dubey said though it was a laborious task to identify primary and secondary contacts of affected person and securing samples to conducting tests, isolating and giving treatment, we being doctors have to give qualitative treatment to the patients. Coronavirus may not be cured cent per cent but doctors have to be ready always to treat the patients, stated Dr Madhumitha Dubey. Another member Prof Sanjay Kumar Sadhu Khan said the virus affected patient have to be given hydroxylchloroquine along with azithromicine tablets after pursuing their clinical reports. He urged the doctors to give their best to overcome the crucial situations.
District Collector G Veera Pandiyan said despite taking all preventive measures, positive cases are rapidly increasing in the district. This may be due to keeping all the suspected patients at quarantine centre and extended treatment but now the covid patents are being treated at separate rooms. Several migrant labourers are also detected positive symptoms and they are being treated at institutional quarantine. The Collector lauded the services of doctors at Kurnool Covid hospital for their tremendous services. A Post-Graduate student was also affected with positive. He assured of necessary equipments to the doctors and support from the district administration.
Medical College Principal Dr Chandrasekhar said for early confirmation of positive symptoms, there is a team of expert lab technicians. Rapid tests are being conducted to trace the patients on the lines of tests conducted earlier with regard to Hepatitis-B and HIV. Around 95 per cent of patients have recovered fully and the mortality rate is only 2 to 3 per cent, said Chandrasekhar. Later, the Central team members accompanied with the District Collector G Veera Pandiyan and Superintendent of Police has visited red zone areas in the town.
Dr Madhumitha enquired about the steps taken to control the corona and the use of technology with the Superintendent of Police Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli. The team members also inspected barricading, police mobilisation, municipal, doctor's duties and the main routes. The SP said that with the help of drone cameras the vehicles are being detected and seized that are found at red zones. If people are found assembled they are warned through public addressing systems, added the SP.
