Kurnool: Nandyal sub-collector Kalpana Kumari ordered the authorities of Nava Jeevan and Jeevana Jyothi schools to impart quality education to the students. She made a surprise visit to the schools and inspected the conditions there on Tuesday.

The mentally, visually and physically-challenged students pursue education at Nava Jeevana and Jeevana Jyothi. Nava Jeevan, which is located at Ayyaluru Metta in Nandyal, is an age-old school where normal students besides visually-challenged would be admitted and imparted education. In Jeevan Jyothy school, located at Kranti Nagar, only visually-challenged students are admitted. Both are private institutions.

Kalpana Kumari first visited Nava Jeevan school and inspected the school surroundings. She spoke to the students and enquired about the facilities they are being provided. She said interacting with the students for a while had given her immense pleasure. She told the students that nothing is impossible if education is pursued with determination.

Later, the sub-collector also visited Jeevana Jyothi where visually challenged students are pursuing education. After a while of interaction with the students, she also inspected the food being served to them. She patted the authorities for serving tasty food. She also spoke with the organisers and asked about the problems, if any. The sub-collector ordered the authorities of the Jeevan Jyothi to bring the school's problems to her notice.

Kalpana enquired about the strength of the students pursuing education in the school. Responding to the sub-collector, the school authorities said that they have only 50 admissions. Of the 50, 10 students used to attend the school from their residence and the other 40 are staying at the school hostel.

The sub-collector ordered the school authorities to be kind with the students as the students could be more sensitive but are far more intelligent than the normal people.
