Kurnool: Three-month-old baby discharged after testing negative for Coronavirus

Kurnool: A 3-month-old baby was discharged from Kurnool government general hospital, the state Covid hospital on Wednesday, after she was tested negative for coronavirus on two occasions.

The baby girl hails from Old town area, the corona hotspot in Kurnool city and she is a third contact of her neighbour, who was recently discharged from Viswabharathi Covid hospital.

The baby girl, who was suffering with motions and vomiting, was shifted to quarantine facility at Kurnool GGH on May 22.

During the tests conducted, she was tested positive for coronavirus. Since then, she was treated in an isolation ward for 14 days along with her mother, who has been tested negative.

The baby was responded well with the medication extended by the doctors, said the district collector G Veera Pandiyan.

He further said that a total number of 12 persons were discharged from the Kurnool GGH and Vishwabharati Covid hospitals. Of the 12 persons, 7 are from Kurnool and 5 from other states.
