Large, mega industries will come up in State says Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao
As many as 39 industries with an investment of Rs 24.170 crore will be established and 34,000 unemployed will be benefited, according to Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao
Visakhapatnam: Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao has said the State government is initiating measures for establishment of 39 large and mega industries in the State with an investment of over Rs 24,170 crore.
Srinivasa Rao, who held a review meeting with the officials of Industries and other departments on the progress achieved in the last one year and the proposed works to be taken up in the next four years, told the media here on Thursday that over 34,000 unemployed youth would be benefited once the proposed industries came up. Of the proposed 39 industries, five would come up in the district, the Minister added.
Stating that the State government was committed to the industrial development, Srinivasa Rao said incentives were announced for various units, including MSMEs which are in crisis due to lockdown imposed in the wake of the dreaded coronavirus.
Similarly, it was decided to take up construction of new roads and bridges in the State with Rs 300 crore, said the Minister.
Under the YSR Vahana Mithra, over 32,778 persons in the district were benefited last year. The amount for this year would be credited to their account on June 4, he said.
The Minister further said that over 27 lakh poor people in the State would get house site pattas on July 8 under the prestigious project announced as a part of Navaratnalu by the State government.
