Lions Trust to help students in Rajamahendravaram
East Godavari Lions Centennial Vidya Protsahaka Trust secretary BVN Reddy has said that cash assistance of Rs 7 lakh will be given to 72 students this year in a specially convened meeting in Bommana Ramachandra Rao Chamber of Commerce Function hall at Gowthami Ghat here on August 11.
Rajamahendravaram: East Godavari Lions Centennial Vidya Protsahaka Trust secretary BVN Reddy has said that cash assistance of Rs 7 lakh will be given to 72 students this year in a specially convened meeting in Bommana Ramachandra Rao Chamber of Commerce Function hall at Gowthami Ghat here on August 11.
Speaking to reporters at Anam Rotary hall here on Friday, he said the cash assistance will be given to the tune of Rs 6,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000 as per their eligibility.
The trust came into existence in the year 2015 with the inspiration of Lions International Director Chigurupati Vara Prasad. It aimed at providing financial assistance to poor and middle class merit students. As many as 50 founder trustees donated an amount of one lakh rupees each as capital amount with an aim to escalate it to Rs 1 crore and help the students by spending the interest amount.
Lion Badam Bala Krishna is the chairman of the trust. Lions district governor SVV Satyanarayana, trust members Gubbala Rambabu, PLN Prasad, Gopala Krishna and G Ramu were present.
