Lockdown not applicable to all areas: Collector D Muralidhar Reddy

Kakinada: East Godavari District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy has said that lockdown is applicable only in certain areas, containment zones and buffer zones but not in the entire district.

Along with Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar, the Collector visited Jagannaickpur, Yetimoga and Sanjaynagar containment zones here on Sunday. He said that officials have initiated the process of identifying and screening all primary and secondary contacts of Covid-19 patients in the containment zone designated areas across the district. He appealed to the people to follow the rules and suggested everyone to stay in their home.

He told the people not to panic and everything is under control. Reddy said that the government has taken the precautionary measures to curb Coronavirus in the district. He advised people should voluntarily undergo the Covid-19 tests.

Later, the collector observed shops, houses and sanitation works in the colony and ordered the municipal staff to take precautionary measures to contain spread of Covid-19 in the areas.

The Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar advised people not to come out of the red zone unless it was urgent.
