Bangarupalyam (Chittoor district): TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh has completed 100 km of his Yuva Galam padayatra at Bangarupalyam on Friday.

The padayatra began on January 27 in Kuppam and Lokesh has completed padayatra in two constituencies Kuppam and Palamaner during the last seven days. It resumed from Puthalapattu constituency on the eighth day and when it reached Bangarupalyam, he decided to provide a dialysis centre at the government hospital there to mark the 100th km of his walkathon.

Knowing that the town has a number of kidney ailment patients who have been facing problems to go to far off places and private centres for dialysis, Lokesh decided to bear the expenditure from his own resources and set up the unit.

Later, he addressed the people after which the police seized the sound vehicles and live van vehicle saying that there was no permission to use them.

Earlier, Lokesh interacted with women at Seshapuram in Puthalapattu Assembly constituencyh and said that despite facing financial crisis in 2014, the then TDP government allocated Rs 20 crore for Pasupu Kumkuma scheme keeping in view the welfare of women. But, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who promised pension for women belonging to the SCs, STs and Minorities who completed 45 years of age deceived them by not keeping his promise. The Disha Act is confined only to papers and there is no security for women in the State, he said.

Jagan who promised total prohibition in the State is now encouraging illicit liquor sale which is resulting in loss of several lives, he remarked and said that the illicit liquor was being manufactured in the distilleries owned by benamis of the Chief Minister. The future of the citizens of Andhra Pradesh, particularly the younger generation will be bright only if Chandrababu Naidu becomes the Chief Minister again, he said. The State government started shivering on hearing the very name of 'Yuva Galam', Lokesh said and felt that the entire police system almost surrendered to the ruling party.

When hundreds of police reached Bangarupalyam meeting place, he reached a private building to address the people and challenged Chief Minister Jagan to come directly to face him. "The CM has been trying to stall the padayatra using police force. When Jagan took up padayatra, he was given Z+ security, four rope parties and three DSPs to ensure it moved smoothly," Lokesh pointed out.
