Regrets that the State govt failed to respond though farmers in the capital villages have been agitating for the last 83 days

Amaravati: Nara Lokesh, national general secretary of the TDP accompanied by former Minister Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao, JAC members Sunkara Padmasri and A Siva Reddy called on the agitators who took part in fast for 80 hours at Penumaka village in Amaravati on Monday and offered them lemon juice to end their fast.

Later, addressing the large number of people at the fasting camp, Nara Lokesh said that the State was afflicted by Jagan virus. "Nobody is responding though the people were agitating for the last 83 days," he expressed concern.

He said that the farmers were also for the development of all regions since development decentralisation is important but not administration decentralisation. He alleged that the YCP government was attempting to dilute the agitation by calling them paid artistes.

He pointed out that 50 persons died taking part in agitation demanding that the government continue capital in Amaravati. As many as 500 persons were jailed even as they took part in a peaceful protest against shifting of the capital. Lokesh appealed to the people of Visakhapatnam not to be deceived like the people of Amaravati.
