Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister and District In-charge Minister Dharmana Krishna Das stated that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch the free house site distribution under Navaratnalu - Pedalandariki Illu programme on December 25.
Minister Dharmana Krishna Das accompanied by Rajya Sabha Member Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Kakinada MP Vanga Geetha, Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu, BC Welfare Minister Chelluboina Venu Gopala Krishna, District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy, Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy and others on Tuesday inspected the venue for the Chief Minister's maiden visit to Komaragiri village of U Kothapalli mandal on December 25, meant for the official launch of the YSR Congress Party government's ambitious 'Navaratnalu - Pedalandariki Illu' programme.
The Minister held a review meeting with officials from the Police, Health, R&B, Electricity, Rural Water Supply, MEPMA, Transport, Panchayat and other departments on arrangements for the visit.
Speaking to the media, Minister Krishna Das said that nearly 30 lakh house sites will be distributed in the State. He directed that the official arrangements should be made for the people coming to the programme without any hassle and the focus should be on drinking water supply and sanitation. He suggested that the programme should be successfully carried out with the advice and suggestions of the local representatives.
He said that nearly 16,500 plots have been prepared in the Komaragiri layout, which is located close to the sea and has a pleasant climate.
Collector D Muralidhar Reddy said that the district has been in the forefront in all matters from land acquisition to distribution of house sites under the Pedalandariki Illu scheme to the poor. He said that CM Jagan would distribute house site pattas to the beneficiaries under the Pedalandariki Illu scheme.
Later CM Jagan will interact with the beneficiaries and inaugurate a model house built under the scheme. He directed the officials in the wake of Covid-19 to ensure that everyone wears a mask and attend the event.
Joint Collectors Dr G Lakshmisha, Keerthi Chekuri, G Raja Kumari, Kakinada Municipal Corporation Commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar and others were present.
