Modi playing cheap tricks: Devineni Uma

Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was playing cheap tricks by resorting to Income Tax raids on TDP leaders as they demanded Special Category Status to AP and fulfill the assurances made in State Bifurcation Act
Vijayawada: Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was playing cheap tricks by resorting to Income Tax raids on TDP leaders as they demanded Special Category Status to AP and fulfill the assurances made in State Bifurcation Act.
As part of the election campaign, the Minister visited Reddigudem, Adavikothuru and Maddulaparva villages on Friday and cautioned the people that if YSRCP comes to power the construction of the capital city of Amaravati would be stopped and the industrialists who have invested would go back. He alleged that YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy is hand-in-glove with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to hush-up his cases.
He said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was fighting against the Central government to protect the self-respect of the people of AP. He recalled that TDP founder NTR, too, fought for the self-respect of the people. He said that the people of the State are lucky to have a Chief Minister like Chandrababu Naidu and under his able governance many welfare schemes and development activities were being implemented.
He said that cheques were given to women in the State under Pasupu Kumkuma scheme and loans were waived off for the farmers. A plan was finalised to distribute one crore smart phones to the women in the state, and soon after the elections, they would implement the scheme, said the minister.
He said that pension amount was enhanced from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 and after the elections it will be further increased to Rs 3,000. He further said that new schemes would be introduced which would benefit the people of the State in the days to come.
