NABARD reviews RASS projects in Tirupati

Tirupati: NABARD AP Chief General Manager S Selvaraj along with senior official Raghupathi on Thursday reviewed the implementation of various projects taken up by RASS (Rashtriya Seva Samithi), a national-level NGO, with the support of NABARD in Chittoor district.

In an official meeting held in RASS head office here, Selvaraj interacted with RASS officials led by General Secretary Dr G Muniratnam, Executive Director Venkatratnam on the execution of the NABARD funded projects in the district.

Muniratnam has explained the resource mobilisation being taken up by RASS through various sources including Centre, State government, NABARD and other sources for taking up various development and social welfare initiatives in the district including betterment of agriculture, dairy, promoting self-employment ventures and also drought mitigation programme supported by International Fund for Agircultural Development (IFAD) in select drought prone mandals to provide succour to the small and marginal farmers.

On the occasion, Selvaraj released 'Crop calendar for mango crop' which will be ready reckoner for mango farmers in the district for adopting feasible practices and time bound measure to be taken up for enhancing mango yield.

Mango is the major horticulture crop in Chittoor district, keeping this in view RASS brought out the calendar for the benefit of farmers. RASS project manager Dr Mohan, M Prasanth Babu and others were present.
