Amaravati: TDP national general secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Tuesday strongly objected to the manner in which ministers were spreading 'misinformation' among people on comments allegedly made by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on agriculture.

Lokesh challenged ministers Botcha Satyanarayana and K Kannababu to prove where exactly. Naidu had said that cultivation would be a wasteful effort. He gave this counter on the floor of the Legislative Council which witnessed heated exchanges following some comments made on Naidu's book 'Manasulo Maata'.

Stating that the YSRCP had dubious origins, Lokesh asserted that the TDP had ample proof to show how Satyanarayana and Kannababu had made serious comments against Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy before joining the YSRCP. These leaders even called the YSRCP a 'Chanchalaguda Party', meaning that the leader of the party was bound to go to jail in the illegal investments cases.

Lokesh said that both Satyanarayana and Kannababu started heaping all praise on Y S Jagan Reddy only after joining his party and eventually they both became ministers. Unfortunately, the Ministers and MLAs were not checking their past statements before targeting the TDP regarding criticism as the Chief Minister.

Lokesh also moved a privilege notice against Guntur Urban SP Ammi Reddy. He made a formal complaint to the Council Chairman saying that Ammi Reddy had threatened him by making posts on social media.

The TDP MLC said that when he found fault with the false arrest of TDP activist Mani Ratnam, the SP made comments on social media threatening him and trample on his rights as an MLC. If the police officer had any complaint, he would have to come through the proper channel and bring the same to the notice of the Council Chairman, he said.
