Vijayawada: Mahanati Savitri Kalapeetham honoured several eminent personalities who excelled in their fields across the state as part of Navaratna Puraskarams to mark the 70th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister YS Rajesekhara Reddy here on Monday evening.
The organisers felicitated Dara Karunasri in social service category, Dupati Sridevi was felicitated for her performance in cultural programmes, Bhamidipati Janaki was honoured in acting and Durga Nagamani was felicitated in singing with Navaratna Puraskarams.
Adding to this, the young talent in beauty contests Bhavana, Lahari and Suma Sri were also felicitated by the organisers with the Navaratna Puraskarams. Nori Saibaba was honoured with Navaratna Puraskaram for his service towards photography and Bhaskar also bagged the Navaratna Puraskaram in Anchoring.
Veteran journalist Turlapati Kutumba Rao presided over the event and Bolisetty Radhakrishna, Srinivasa Reddy, Nidumolu Rama Satyanarayana, Chandra Sekhar, Vijaya Lakshmi and others were present. Later, a music concert entertained the people present on the occasion.
