Nellore: GSLV MkIII-M1 moved to launch pad now and health check of the spacecraft is in progress at SHAR on Monday. It has been scheduled to launch the Chandrayaan-2 in the wee hours of July 15. The GSLV Mk-III will carry Chandrayaan-2 to its designated orbit and the three-stage vehicle is India's most powerful launcher to date and can launch 4-tonne class of satellites to the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO). Presently, Chandrayaan-2 will attempt to soft land the lander-Vikram and Rover–Pragyan in a high of the plain between two craters, Manzinus C and Simpelius N, at a latitude of about 70 deg south.
