District Collector KVN Chakradhar Babu said that there is cold chain facility for the storage of 16 lakh doses of vaccine in the district and asked the medical and health officials to provide 28,000 doses in the first phase
Nellore: District Collector KVN Chakradhar Babu said that there is cold chain facility for the storage of 16 lakh doses of vaccine in the district and asked the medical and health officials to provide 28,000 doses in the first phase. He interacted with the district task force members on Tuesday.
The Collector instructed the medical authorities to get prepared for providing Covid vaccine to around 30 lakh people across the district in various phases. The Collector also visited the DMHO office in the city on Tuesday and inquired about the measures being taken up for the vaccination process in the district.
He inspected the cold chain where the vaccine was stored at the DMHO office and asked about the storage capacity at the chain. Staff members of the Health department explained to the Collector that there is a facility of 16 lakh doses in the cold storage in the district and they had arranged additional refrigeration machines to maintain the required temperature.
Chakradhar Babu instructed the medical staff to provide vaccination to 28,000 frontline staff members in the first phase and also to 50,000 workers in the second phase. He directed the officials to prepare the session site for providing the vaccination.
There is a need to impart training to the staff members for giving vaccination at the site, he directed. Health staff should keep medicines available for meeting any emergency needs in case anybody falls sick due to vaccination, said the Collector. Joint Collector Dr N Prabhakar Reddy, SP Bhaskar Bhushan, Municipal Commissioner K Dinesh Kumar, DMHO Dr G Rajyalakshmi, and others were present.
