Nellore: Open more branches, Collector asks bankers

Nellore : District Collector MV Seshagiri Babu directed the bankers to take steps for establishing a branch for every 5,000 population in the district. He addressed the bankers at the DRDA conference hall here on Thursday. He said that the areas which have not been covered so far have to be covered with the active participation of the bankers and for the benefit of the poor.

Collector instructed the bankers to deposit the YSR Pensions into the accounts of the beneficiaries. He said that the bank officials have to transfer the amount immediately, further, it would be handed over to the beneficiaries through the volunteers at their doorsteps.

He said that the officials have to take steps for distribution of the pension amount on every 1st and have to bring any issues in distribution of pensions to the notice of the district administration. He also enquired with the bank officials on the status of sanction of loans and recoveries to the financing wings.

Collector explained that beneficiaries have availed 90 percent of loans from the banks under various schemes in the district and the recovery should also be 100 percent. Further, Collector released 2020-21 annual credit plan during the meet. RBI official Ravi Shankar, NABARD DGM Ravi Singh, Lead District Manager YV Ramprasad Reddy, and others were present.
