Nellore: Scores of parents in the district express their concern about the welfare of their children either studying or working in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu. The borders in Tada mandal with Tamil Nadu were closed causing anxiety to the people who want to bring their children back. With the imposition of Section 144, several people were struck at borders.

Nellore is close to Chennai and other important locations and the local people join their children in the colleges, universities and software companies. They, normally, visit their native places once in fortnight or month.

But the situation now changed with restrictions at the borders imposed by both the state governments. Closing borders have started from Sullurpet restricting movement of the vehicles on the National Highway-16 and they don't allow to proceed further after Tada Mandal. Arambakkam Police Station is the limit where people from both sides have to stop moving.

"The situation is similar to the borders in Kashmir. I have travelled up to Arambakkam in Gummidipundi Taluk in Tamil Nadu and close to Tada requesting the police personnel and obeying their warnings. My daughter from Chennai city also reached spending around Rs. 3,000 which is abnormal for 66 km, then reached the city finally," said SV Mallikarjun, a retired bank official.
