Kakinada: Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel Chairman (SVBC) Balireddy Prudhvi Raj on Thursday rubbished the campaign launched by "vested interests" over non-Hindu religious campaign on Tirumala hills.

Speaking to the media at Minister for Agriculture Kurasala Kannababu camp office here, Prudhvi Raj said some vested interests and some forces inimical to the government had launched malicious campaign to defame Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Chief Minister, he said, was implementing many welfare schemes for the welfare of the downtrodden. The government had taken measures to protect the interests of the farmers.

The vested interests were jealous of growing popularity of the government and that was why they had launched vilification campaign, he said. During the rule of Chandrababu Naidu, Telugu Desam leaders had looted public money by selling sand, minerals, liquor and others.

He also found fault with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for his comments on religious campaigns at Tirumala. He wondered why Pawan Kalyan did not question the former Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu on religious campaign at Tirumala hills. He also found fault with Pawan Kalyan for his comments about veterinarian murder. He was particularly critical of Jana Sena chief saying that there is no need for capital punishment for rapists.
