Ongole: Prakasam district police resumed the Spandana, the grievance day in the district police office, along with the other police stations in the district on Monday. The district superintendent of police (SP) Siddharth Kaushal received petitions from the public in his office and directed the concerned officials for immediate action, through the videoconference.

As announced by the SP office earlier, the police department made necessary arrangements for the people, who cannot come to Ongole personally, to participate in the grievance programme 'Online Spandana' through videoconference at their nearby police stations. The SP received 32 complaints in Online Spandana from the people including 12 from Markapuram, 8 from Ongole, 8 from Kandukur and 2 each from Chirala and Darsi subdivisions. In 'Spandana Beyond Borders', the programme to receive petitions from non-resident Prakasam district, one person from Dallas, USA spoke to the SP Siddharth Kaushal and complained against forgery and land grabbing. In the regular Spandana, the SP received 65 urges from the public in his chamber. They requested the SP to solve their problem as they are vexed with the denial of justice to them at various stages.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that the complainants can speak face to face with him via videoconference every Monday afternoon from 2:30 pm to 04.30 pm from any local police station without coming to the headquarters at Ongole. He also informed that people with disabilities, the elderly, and people of Prakasam district living in any other place seeking legal assistance in Prakasam district can lodge their grievances by talking face to face with the SP via videoconference without visiting any police station. The SP also told that a special virtual room facility has been set up for videoconferencing so that the complainants facilitated to convey their grievances only to the SP.
