TDP leaders alleges Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and district officials should knew that the land selected for the distribution is Mining Department land and they cannot distribute it to the public

Ongole: The Telugu Desam Party Ongole parliamentary division president Dr Nukasani Balaji demanded that the government explain how come former MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao obstructed the distribution of housing plots to the poor public.

He alleged that Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and district officials know that the land selected for the distribution was mining department and they cannot distribute it to the public, and demanded to know for whom they spent Rs 40 crore on the land in the name of development.

Addressing a press meet, Balaji said that DamacharlaJanardhana Rao wanted to construct the IIIT Ongole at Yerajarla village. But the government objected to the proposal as the land was under the mining department and quoted GO MS 74 of February 16, 2002, and Memo number 14433/Assn I(1)/2013-1 barring the mining lands to assign for public needs and also to allocate them for mining only. Balaji questioned the government how did the Minister Balineni Srinivasulu Reddy, who was also a former minister of mines selects the mining land for the housing plots and how come the district administration spends Rs 40 crore on the land development and plotting though they know it was illegal. He sought to know who encouraged the officials to spend the money on the land, when the issue was filed in the court.

Balaji said that the Chief Minister might have not known about the facts but Minister Balineni must have known it and accusing Damacharla Janardhana Rao for the mistakes done by his government was an act of absurd. He said that Balineniwas still trying to convince the public by announcing that he will distribute the same land and advised the government to issue a NOC for the land first and get clarity on the issue rather than accusing others.

The TDP state secretary PodiliSrinivasulu, Ongole town president Kothari Nageswara Rao, P Venkateswara Reddy, Shaik Kalesha and others also participated in the press meet.
