Rajamahendravaram: Former Union minister M M Pallam Raju said that All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi will sign on the file according Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh after becoming prime minister.
Speaking to media at Congress office here on Tuesday, Pallam Raju underlined the need to make Rahul Prime Minister for the implementation of promises made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act-2014.
"The AICC president is very particular for the development of Andhra Pradesh. Only he can keep his promise to the state. Congress manifesto which promised a raft of welfare measures was well-received by the people. Congress assured to waive Rs 2 lakh farmers' loans in 48 hours in the state as it did in other states," he said.
Stating that AP development is possible only with Congress which has clear perspective and an action plan on the needs and problems of the state, he said Congress developed the country on all fronts since Independence.
Pallam Raju said TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy and JSP president Pawan Kalyan have been hurling personal abuses against one another instead of targeting party policies. "The people are vexed with the leaders abusing one other setting aside welfare of the public," he added.
He appealed to the people to elect Congress MPs and MLAs in the state for better future of the state as well as the country. Rajamahendravaram Congress MP candidate N V Srinivas, MLA candidate Boda Venkat, DCC president N V Raja were present.
